THE BEST LAWYER ANYONE COULD ASK FOR.

The BEST LAWYER ANYONE COULD ASK FOR!!! Todd changed our lives! He’s not JUST a lawyer representing us for a case. Todd and his office have become Family. When we entered his office in August of 2022, we entered with such anxiety, uncertainty, and so much stress. Honestly we were very lost. My husband and I felt alone. How could a lawyer who didn’t know us, know our family, know our background represents us, When this could change our lives for the next 5-7years that my husband was facing in Federal jail. By the time our free consultation was over with Todd, we left his office at ease. All our questions were answered and we had a sense of relief.

San Joaquin County Jail Inmate Search

Searching for Inmates at the San Joaquin County Jail

The San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp, California houses over 1,500 inmates at any given time. For friends and family of someone who has been incarcerated there, being able to easily search for and locate their loved one can provide some peace of mind. This article will explain how to utilize the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office online inmate locator to find information on someone being held at the county jail.

Overview of the San Joaquin County Jail

Operated by the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, the main county jail facility is located at 7000 Michael Canlis Blvd in French Camp. This is a medium-sized detention center that houses male and female inmates, both pre-trial detainees and those serving misdemeanor sentences under a year.
In addition to the main jail, there are two smaller facilities: the Honor Farm, which houses minimum security inmates, and the Re-Entry and Enhanced Alternatives to Custody Training (REACT) Center, which focuses on rehabilitation and preparing soon-to-be-released inmates to reintegrate into society.

Searching for an Inmate Online

The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office provides an online inmate locator on their website to allow quick searches for people detained at the county jail. This database contains booking photos and listings for most individuals taken into custody, along with basic information like full name, age, scheduled release date, bail amount, and specific housing location within the jail.
To access the inmate lookup tool, go to the Sheriff’s Office homepage at sjgov.org/sheriff and click on the “In Custody Search” link in the Quick Links section. Alternatively, you can go directly to the search page at sjgov.org/sheriff/custody.

Entering Search Criteria

The online search form allows you to query the inmate database using different criteria:
Inmate Name – Look up someone by entering their first and/or last name. Note that name searches should be precise, as the system does not show similar names.
Booking Number – If you know the specific booking or case number assigned to the inmate upon intake, you can enter that to pull up their record directly.
Birth Year – Search by birth year if you only know the approximate age of the person you are looking for.
Once you enter any of the above details and hit the “Search” button, the system will display entries matching your parameters. You can browse through the results and click on a specific inmate’s name to access their individual record with more detailed information.

Understanding Inmate Records

When searching for a specific person in custody at the San Joaquin County Jail, their individual inmate record contains a wealth of helpful information:
Booking Details – This section lists the date and time the inmate was booked, their assigned booking number, housing location, bond amount, and scheduled release date.
Arrest Details – Any arrest records related to the current detention will be shown here, including the arresting agency, date, and formal charges. For pending cases, specific court dates may also be listed.
Personal Information – Confirmed details like legal name, date of birth, age, gender, height, weight, hair color, eye color, etc can help verify you have found the right individual.
Image – The inmate’s booking photo is provided to help confirm identity visually if needed.
Case Information – For any prior bookings and criminal cases, additional info like the case number, original arrest/booking date, charges, and disposition may be available.
If the person you searched for does not appear in the inmate lookup results at all, it likely means they are not currently in custody at the San Joaquin County Jail. They may be housed at another facility, have already been released, or never booked in the first place.

Contacting a Jail Inmate

Once you have located your friend or family member within the San Joaquin County Jail system using the online search tool, you may want to reach out to them by phone or mail.
The Sheriff’s Office inmate telephone system is handled by a 3rd party provider, ICSolutions, which allows inmates to receive pre-paid phone calls along with collect calls. Friends and family can set up phone payment accounts online or over the phone to receive calls from incarcerated loved ones at the county jail.
Inmates can also stay in touch with mail, both sending and receiving letters while detained. Each housing unit has specific mailing instructions, but generally incoming mail should be addressed to the inmate using their full legal name and booking ID, c/o the jail facility address:

Be sure to clearly write the inmate’s assigned housing unit on the envelope as well. This will ensure mail makes it to the correct location within the jail.
Searching for and contacting incarcerated friends or family at the San Joaquin County Jail can ease worries about their situation. The Sheriff’s Office online lookup tool makes finding updated information on inmates’ status quick and straightforward. Reaching out by phone or mail also allows you to provide some extra support during this difficult time.
