THE BEST LAWYER ANYONE COULD ASK FOR.

The BEST LAWYER ANYONE COULD ASK FOR!!! Todd changed our lives! He’s not JUST a lawyer representing us for a case. Todd and his office have become Family. When we entered his office in August of 2022, we entered with such anxiety, uncertainty, and so much stress. Honestly we were very lost. My husband and I felt alone. How could a lawyer who didn’t know us, know our family, know our background represents us, When this could change our lives for the next 5-7years that my husband was facing in Federal jail. By the time our free consultation was over with Todd, we left his office at ease. All our questions were answered and we had a sense of relief.

Getting Your Life Back on Track After a Bank Robbery Charge

Getting Your Life Back on Track After a Bank Robbery Charge

Getting charged with bank robbery can feel like the end of the world. The stigma, the potential prison sentence, the disruption to your life – it can seem overwhelming. But with the right attitude and support, it is possible to get your life back on track.

The first thing is to not lose hope. A bank robbery charge does not define who you are as a person. People make mistakes, some bigger than others. But you still have value, and you still deserve a chance at a good life.

Dealing with the Legal Fallout

The legal issues have to be dealt with, ther’s no way around it. Hiring a good lawyer is crucial – public defenders are overloaded with cases, so you need someone who can focus on you. Your lawyer can look at the evidence, talk to prosecutors, and build the strongest defense. Maybe they can get charges reduced or even dismissed. Be honest with them so they can help you.

If convicted, you may serve prison time. Use it productively by taking classes, learning skills for work, and participating in rehab programs. This shows your commitment to change. Also build a support system – stay connected to family through visits, calls, and letters.

Once released, be meticulous with parole requirements like check-ins, drug tests, counseling, and geographic limits. Violating parole means going back, so follow the rules. But also know your rights – if you feel mistreated, talk to your parole officer or lawyer.

Finding Work with a Record

Finding a job with a felony conviction can be hard but not impossible. There are companies willing to hire people with records, especially if you have skills. Be open about your past – lying could get you fired. Prepare to explain how you’ve changed.

Consider working with an organization that helps ex-offenders. They connect people to “second chance” employers and provide career counseling and resume help. Or pursue jobs where background checks are less common – construction, kitchens, landscaping, factories, etc. Self-employment is another option. Start small – like mowing lawns or cleaning houses – and build up.

Once you get a job, work hard and follow the rules. Be reliable and honest. Follow up on feedback from your boss. Advancement may come slower than for others, but it is possible with perseverance. And having steady work helps create structure and purpose in your life.

Rebuilding Family and Community Ties

Your relationships may have been damaged while incarcerated. It takes time and effort, but reconciliation is possible. Be honest and take responsibility for the past. Ask forgiveness. Focus on listening to loved ones’ feelings and rebuilding trust. Don’t expect overnight forgiveness – change takes time.

Be there for important events like birthdays, weddings, holidays. Help out family any way you can, even with household chores or babysitting. Follow through consistently on your commitments. This demonstrates you’ve changed.

It may help to get counseling – either alone or as a family. A therapist can facilitate difficult conversations and teach skills like conflict resolution. Support groups also help people dealing with a loved one’s incarceration.

Volunteering and community service are other ways to reconnect. Give back through organizations that align with your interests. Help out at places of worship, shelters, mentor youth, etc. This builds relationships and self-worth.

Cultivating New Habits and Interests

Finally, develop healthy routines that keep you grounded. Exercise, eat nutritious foods, and get enough sleep. Keep busy with hobbies, classes or cultural activities. Join groups like sports teams or book clubs to meet new positive friends.

Set goals and work towards them – whether finishing school, learning a skill, or starting a business. Having direction and accomplishing things brings meaning. Stay away from old destructive habits like addictions. Consider mindfulness or meditation to build self-discipline.

There will be setbacks along the way – that’s normal. Don’t beat yourself up or give up. Talk to your support system and make adjustments. You have so much potential to live a fulfilling life. Have faith in yourself.

Getting back on track after incarceration requires patience, hard work and support. But it can be done. Focus on the positive changes you’re making in your life. Believe in your ability to create a better future.
