THE BEST LAWYER ANYONE COULD ASK FOR.

The BEST LAWYER ANYONE COULD ASK FOR!!! Todd changed our lives! He’s not JUST a lawyer representing us for a case. Todd and his office have become Family. When we entered his office in August of 2022, we entered with such anxiety, uncertainty, and so much stress. Honestly we were very lost. My husband and I felt alone. How could a lawyer who didn’t know us, know our family, know our background represents us, When this could change our lives for the next 5-7years that my husband was facing in Federal jail. By the time our free consultation was over with Todd, we left his office at ease. All our questions were answered and we had a sense of relief.

Should I Get a Lawyer for Minor in Possession of Alcohol?

Given the potential penalties, it’s usually a good idea to have a lawyer represent you if you’re facing minor in possession charges. An experienced criminal defense attorney can help in several ways:

What are Some Common Defenses for Minor in Possession?

There are a few common legal defenses that a lawyer may use to fight minor in possession charges in Connecticut:

  • Lack of proof – The prosecution has the burden of proving you possessed alcohol. If they can’t prove it beyond a reasonable doubt, the charges can get dismissed.

What if I Can’t Afford a Lawyer?

If you can’t afford a private defense attorney, you may qualify for a public defender to represent you for free. This is based on your financial situation and income level. Public defenders are experienced criminal lawyers who can fully represent you just like a hired attorney.

To apply for a public defender, request one at your first court appearance. The judge will have you fill out an application to confirm you’re eligible based on need. If approved, an attorney will be appointed to your case.

Should I Just Plead Guilty and Pay the Fine?

Some people charged with minor in possession figure they’ll just plead guilty, pay the fine, and move on. This seems like the easiest option, but it has consequences:

  • You’ll have a criminal record for life
